  26. In a later interview with the German Amiga Magazin (why am I always quoting that
  27. mag?  We should set up a group to translate them entirely and upload the old
  28. issues to Aminet) Petro Tyschtschenko explains how he was sent on a mission:
  29. "Petro, I want the Amiga".

  31. Apparently it was considered vital that he moved quietly, and I'm sure that they
  32. would never have succeeded if the Commodore Suicide Squad hadn't been under the
  33. impression that Escom didn't care about the Amiga.  Remember how they almost
  34. struck a deal with the UK team near the end?  Suddenly the liquidator was
  35. unavailable for comment until Ali and Gould came up with their objections.

  37. Of course it's easy enough to say *afterwards* that they wanted the Amiga all
  38. along, but we do know that Escom didn't hesitate very long to double their price
  39. when the acquisition came under fire.
